Scrap Wood Birdhouse Nest Box

 

I made a birdhouse from scrap wood so that I can design a method for using Kreg pocket screws. I will make a more detailed blog in the future. But here's a preview:

 

The side view below shows two small holes for air ventilation.
The floor uses the pocket screws for attachment to the back and left side. The corners are cut out for water drainage and air ventilation.
The front hole is 1 1/8", just right for the size of a house wren.
The right side panel pivots up for nest monitoring.
The roof is inset into the back to prevent water from getting in.
My Nephew likes it and painted it to match the fence.
